The Church of Ideas (St John’s in Cathedral Square)
On 24th February 2015 a season of five "Church of Ideas" talks begins at St John the Baptist Peterborough. The talks, which will each begin at 1pm, should be of interest to people interested in playing an active part in the Peterborough's development, as our speakers are all leaders of influential organisations working in the city. A common thread throughout the season will be volunteering.
The church will be open from noon before each talk and light refreshments and home made cakes will be available. Admission to the talks is free, but we do ask those attending to make a donation of around £3 if they are able to, to help cover our costs.
Our five speakers and their subjects are:
24th February Brian Pearce, Railworld “How volunteering changed my life”
3rd March Carly Leonard, CEO of PECT “The city and the environment”
10th March Mark Richards and Sarah Haythornthwaite, Metal Peterborough “Engaging communities through the arts”
17th March Steve Bowyer, Opportunity Peterborough “10 years back/10 years forward –
24th March Kevin Tighe, chief executive of Vivacity - Title still to be confirmed.
